Meet Dr. Teodoro, Periodontist & Implant Specialist

Juan M. Teodoro, D.M.D.

Dr. Teodoro is a Board-Certified Periodontist, holding Diplomate status with both the American Academy of Periodontology and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is also a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, a prestigious dental honor society that supports humanitarian efforts, educational initiatives, and public health projects worldwide.

A former Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Florida’s Naples Dental Residency Program, Dr. Teodoro remains actively engaged in community service. He continues to provide care to military veterans in need through the Bonita Bay Veterans Council.

Dr. Teodoro served as a Major in the United States Air Force, where he held multiple leadership roles, including Chief of Periodontics, Director of the Implant Board, and Clinical Instructor.

Widely recognized as one of the region’s foremost authorities on Laser Periodontal Therapy, Dr. Teodoro was the first periodontist in both Lee and Collier Counties to introduce periodontal laser treatment using the PerioLase® system for managing periodontal disease and peri-implantitis.

In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr. Teodoro has contributed to public education through several local publications, raising awareness about oral health and its connection to overall wellness. His articles include:

Committed to remaining at the forefront of his field, Dr. Teodoro regularly participates in advanced continuing education courses. He travels nationally and internationally each year to learn from leading experts in implant dentistry, periodontics, and oral surgery, continually expanding his expertise in both surgical and non-surgical techniques.

Dr. Teodoro met his wife, Dr. Erin Taylor, while attending dental school in Pittsburgh. Dr. Taylor is a board-certified pediatric dentist with three practices throughout Southwest Florida. Together, they are proud parents to their daughter, Lauren, as well as two beloved dogs: Elli, a Goldendoodle, and Koko, a Portuguese Water Dog.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. Teodoro enjoys spending quality time with his family, traveling, pursuing his passion for skiing whenever time permits, and mountain biking.

  Dr. Dr. Teodoro has hands of gold! He recently extracted 2 teeth, one was a difficult  crowned tooth which needed stitches. The patient was my Son Frank( who is handicap in wheelchair) Dr. Teodoro told Frank he was going to have  pain. Dr. gave him 2 prescriptions one Antibiotic the other Ibuprofen. Frank experienced no pain!
Dr. Teodoro has "magic instruments.
This is the second time Frank was seen by Dr.T. he extracted 3 teeth last year.
We were told by our Dentist to see an oral Surgeon, however I don't trust anyone but Dr. Teodoro, I know for a fact he extracted 4 teeth and whole mouth laser for me Elizabeth, I didn't have an ounce of pain! He is the Best Dr. ever.

  With this visit, I only dealt with staff, and they are truly wonderful. Very knowledgeable, very professional and very friendly. I felt comfortable at all times, very reassuring.
On my second visit I dealt with both the Dentist and his assistant. both are very friendly and very professional. I was always told what  was going happen and what I needed to do. What I would expect from a good Medical practice, and reassurance that I was in safe, caring hands.

For the next visit, their friendly and efficient staff once again gave another flawless, painless procedure, fully explained. I never felt any more comfortable.

For this visit I was again The recipient of friendly professionalism, always nice. Business talk and small talk with all the staff. The work to be done, a simple x-ray, was performed in a friendly manner that kept me abreast of what to expect. Many of us are not fond of dental work, but with the staff of Bonita Periodontics, I'm happy.

For the next and last (hopefully) visit, this is such a patient-friendly office to deal with. I'm not happy with why I had to go, but I am truly happy that I did! The procedure was fully explained to me, all questions answered and feeling comfortable. I heartily recommend this office.

  Dr. Teodoro and his team were amazing! My 14 year old son needed a procedure done and they were very kind and thorough explaining the procedure. Dr. Teodoro even met us at his office late at night the day after when there was a small situation after surgery. As a mom that was so reassuring and I was so grateful for his genuine care.
